Artist – Torsten Kanzler

Title – Makro

Label – TKR

Release Date – 11th November

With all his heart, every pore and all his blood cells Torsten Kanzler is feeding us with his definition of impulsive, powerful techno – touching mind and body. Thrilling subbass, reduced but intoxicating Synths plus dominant kicks describe german techno icon’s new release ‘Makro’. A stirring combination of deep grooves and sharp dark lead sounds are dragging you directly to the dancefloor, without excuses. Sven Wittekind’s vibrant remix takes you into a world of creaking synths and massive drum arrangements.

With the second track ‘Trashhold’ Kanzler pays tribute to techno and mindblowing clubnights, obviously getting the inspiration from ‘Film Noir’. Extremely authentic and with radical contrasts he leads your mind to the prefect state of emergency. Drumcomplex & Roel put their ‘Salemink Remix’ on the same level as the original, topping it with a plus of hardness and pressure, massaging the endorphins with both hands.

Describe the record in five words.

Dark, straight-forward, groovy, impulsive, Kanzler.

What is it about this record that will appeal to the fans?

The deep, straight-forward grooves.

How does it differ from your last release?

My album ‘Analog System’, which I released in May 2015, already showed the new, changed Kanzler-sound. I pay more attention to the sound of the individual elements and am keeping the mix clean. Each element gets its position in the mix, making it sound clean and more dynamic.

What was the inspiration for this release?

I started with Makro in my hotel room the weekend I played Nature One, inspired by the night and being slightly hung over.

If you had the chance to play this in any club, which would it be?

Either at the Berghain or the Warehouse in London. I haven’t played both clubs so far but I heard that their sound systems rock.
