The Time Has Changed is back with a hot new EP from Timid Boy, who runs this one label with Acumen.
The French producer who also release on Saved, SCI + TEC and VIVa has a big tribal groove and pop leaning sense of melody to his sound and here he gets remixed by new Balkan talent Shosho and DJ Lion & Tomy Wahl who will be next up on the label with their own EP. Timid Boy is also ex deputy editor of Trax Mag and has been resident at places like Rex Club, where he also runs his own Time Has Changed night. He also plays all around the world so is a real dance force.
My Number 3 is the original tune and is an eight minute opus of lithe house grooves. Pained synths stretch out above driving drums and icy hi hats add scale. It is an impactful track to drop in the peak of the night and it will always standout. The Shosho remix takes the track down a deep and acid laced futuristic house path that is littered with emotive vocals and killer synths and bass. Last of all DJ Lion & Tomy Wahl flip the cut into something much more driving, rubbery and techno inclined. It closes out yet another fine EP.

What is it about the record that will appeal to the fans?
I keep my own way to build grooves , that the essence of my music, and put on this strong melodic & psychedelic sounds, inspired by old techno from the 90’s or some pop band from nowadays like Alt-J.
How does it differ from your last release?
My last release on Time Has Changed was “Extasy”, it was a visit in the early rave days, a ravey anthem composed on a modern groove. I still continue to build my music on a modern groove, with big rhythms, a strong baseline, but “My Number 3” goes more on psychedelic & hypnotic mood
What was the inspiration for this release?
‘My Number 3′ is a song for my girlfriend. It’s about love. You could feel that with the melody, romantic, a bit drama, beautiful and warm.
If you had the chance to play this in any club, which would it be?
I ‘m quiet lucky as I already play in a lot of the clubs I wanted as Panorama Bar, Watergate, Rex Club, Pacha, Air (Tokyo), D-Edge (Sao Paolo) or Cocoon Club & Bar 25 at the times… I’d really like now to play to Closer in Kiev, I’d loved to play in East, people are so great, this club looks amazing. I’d really loved also go to Warung in Brazil, so many friends of mine play there and they give me appetite for this one J
