A deep and driving track that’s growling jupiter-8 bass powers along with colorful psychedelic synths and drone guitars. A track that combines an uplifting mood with a thought for the dance floor too.
The Sea Organ
A track inspired from the musical sea organ found in the coastal town of Zadar, Croatia. A hypnotic melody plays perpetually from the power of the sea and this formed the basis of the mood of the track and the lead moog synth encapsulates this. There is a subtle audio sample of the The Organ buried in the mix.
Describe the record in five words.
Psychedelic Shoe Gaze House, blah!
What is it about the record that will appeal to the fans?
I think it will be the hypnotic hook of the lead Moog synth which is carried along by a driving rhythm. Also, hopefully the middle section where the arrangement breaks down and things go more ambient and electronica-like – that’s my favorite bit.
How does it differ from your last release?
It’s a much more focused and mature sound. And I have also included my guitars to add an organic feel and texture. I have made use of field recordings too, which can be heard very modestly in the background.
What was the inspiration for this release?
The inspiration comes from an actual Sea Organ which resides in the coastal town of Zadar, Croatia. This instrument plays a melancholic melody using the tide of the sea to power it. I sampled this when I was there and have based the main melody and chord structure around this.
If you had the chance to play this in any club, which would it be?
It’d have to be in the main room at Watergate, Berlin – maybe a bit of a cliche answer, but I don’t care, it’s cool!
Finale is out March 21st on Lowless, check out the previews below.
