Leeds always urges a plethora of excitement within its ranks, especially when and it comes down to its bookings. Wire have always kept their finger on the pulse offering a range of genres to his endearing customers. The bookings are pivitol to any venue and with the likes of Boddika and Kyle Hall all packing out the 300 capacity underground dwelling these past few weeks it shows that the accuracy and development of the in house brands have risen to the top.
Famous for its German esc back street vibes and vigorous rods holding up the dance floor, the tightly knit Funktion 1 soundsystem floods the room with fine distinction and is also a timely fixture within the venue.
Heading down for the Hessle Audio showcase, Pangea, Ben UFO and Pearson Sound all portrayed an array of disco through to techno performing all night long. The vast range of music on hand had the crowd in a complete frenzy and the blends of acid tinged snippets offered a different outlook to the heavier slots mixed in. As always the trio married their intertwined methods of infusing house through the techno with ease and really told a story of old school through to new.
For me this was a stand out performance that I have seen from the three being a huge fan them all. Further more the bookings and future endeavours at the club are more than promising with Back to Basics and Nest all drafting in events within the coming weeks.
