Fabiostar is an Italian DJ/Producer who delivers great tech-house and deep-house productions with awesome melodies. With his recent single just out, ‘Slight Change’ on his own imprint LFO Creations, and already causing a stir, we caught up with him to find out a little more…

Hey Fabio, great to meet you! For some of our readers, who may not be so familiar with your work, how would you describe your sound in 3 words?

Great melodies, massive hooks, tight beats.

How influential have your surroundings been on your musical taste?

Many influences and music culture has grown through passion and dedicated research of new and original sounds, joining parties and live performances at the forefront of the most important clubs in Ibiza, Amsterdam, London, Riccione.

What equipment do you use to make most of your music?

To produce I usually use analog synths like Korg volca sample and Korg volca keys, to create melodies and harmonies. I always try to create new rhythms with Akai MPCand midi keyboard controller. I love ableton software for studio production and to play music all digital. I use Hallen &Heat DB2  with ableton software because I use many samples mixed on tracks.

When was the last time you were stopped in your tracks by a record, DJ set or party and can you explain what or who it was and why you liked it so much?

I liked so much when I listened to one of my favourite tracks. The first track that I had made two years ago, called Deep, played on the national radio in Italy and is amazing, still now. I remember this was my favourite memory!

Who or what have been some of the key inspirations for you over the years and have they remained constant or changed?

Most key inspirations have been taken ,especially listening to the U.K. sounds of the 80s’, Depeche mode, Brian Eno, New Order, Style Council just to mention a few. However, some new inspirations might attempt to influence my musical background.

How long have you been producing? Who influenced you to start?

Only from 3 years. My artistic career was born from enthusiasm and a long  passion for House music, with its many influences and the curiosity that was born into the digital world led me to take a training course in Electronic Music Composition which allowed me to acquire the basics of music theory with the use of keyboards and midi controllers, analog synth etc.

If you could own one track no other DJ could ever play, what would it be and why?

It means that it has been created for something special, receiving strong emotions, maybe because its been created with unequivocal and unique style.

So tell us more about your newest release? What do you normally look to get sorted first? Are you more of a melodies or a drumbeat man?

When writing I start the most basic musical element, creating drumbeat .Often any ideas usually come from trying around with instruments like, drum machine, keyboards, and sampler.

What’s been your favourite memory to date at LFO Creations?

My favourite memory to date has been when I founded the brand, and then released the my first Ep bursting emotions available on the main music stores, it was for me  pure emotion.

What does 2016 have in store for you? An album maybe? Or big tour schedule?

Nothing, I am now involved in a new challenge with LFOCREATIONS. For the first thing I would like evolve new skills to grow professionally like label manager. My mission is to discover and encourage new and unknown talents and promote them and the label. After my goal is to see as many people as possible on the dance floor  and to dance with them.
