Record Of The Day…STK ‘Uncompromising Groundwork’

We have the pleasure of talking with minimal masterminds STK about their latest release with Olga, D-EDGE’s sub label. The D-EDGE residents are known for their enticing grooves and stripped back cuts, always releasing nothing less than a bomb. We hear a little about the inspiration behind the release and its appeal to the fans…

Describe the record in five words.

Raw, Funky, Soul, House, Electronic

What is it about the record that will appeal to the fans?

We expect it appear as STK own style. It is a new project developing own identity. This combination funky groove with electronic elements gives a new shape into the music.

How does it differ from your last release?

This is a particular release. A start of a new brother label of Olga Recordings presenting a collaboration between STK and Gari Romalis. Our previous release on Mentha Records also contain a Remix of Romalis, but with different approach, another mood.

What was the inspiration for this release?

We start the tracks looking for something Raw Old School. Inspired by our all motivation of developing a mix with contemporary gears with dirty funky old characteristic sound. Reaching our expectations, these release is super important for us.

If you had the chance to play this in any club, which would it be?

Fabric.
