Record Of The Day…Maximono ‘Non Sense EP’ (Dirtybird Select)

We have the pleasure of talking to bass heavy duo MAXIMONO to discuss their latest release on Dirtybird Select. Known for their no nonsense, party starting releases on labels such as This Ain’t Bristol, these two are destined for great things in the future…

Describe the record in five words.

Weak. Uninspired. Bass-free. DJ-unfriendly. Nonsense.

What is it about the record that will appeal to the fans?

We hope the fans will tell us. We never think about the actual result too much. When we get together in the studio we’re just having fun and trying not to think about any boundaries or reactions. Both tracks are following the only rule we have: There are no rules

How does it differ from your last release?

We try to never write a similar track twice so it should be pretty different from what we’ve done before. The last release („Bring Ur 9“) was a pretty heavy bassline track whereas this one brings out the musical harmonic side of us a bit more without losing the dancefloor impact.

What was the inspiration for this release?

As we said on question 1, this release is completely uninspired :))

If you had the chance to play this in any club, which would it be?

We’d love to drop these at Fabric (London)
