Record Of The Day – Eitan Reiter, Muzarco – Oh Death (Plattenbank Records)

The lastest release on Plattenbank Records ‘Oh Death’ by Eitan Reiter & Muzarco is dancefloor dynamite! Hear their thoughts on what it means to them…

Describe the record in five words.

Deep meditative emotional tribal journey :)

What is it about the record that will appeal to the fans?

I have no idea. Could be the human voice or the lyrics , the sound design, the maturity of the beat or the simple repetative arrangement. Maybe all together.

How does it differ from your last release?

Usually I dont use singers. I have worked with Omri Klein before and it always works for us. Also of course Muzarco is a genius :) He made a bunch of weird sounds on his laptop while riding the train everyday to work and he came to the studio with a new sound pack every session. I usually record analog synths and it was great to combine the digital world with someone who is so good and special at it.

What was the inspiration for this release?

The rough beat came before the singing and than I remembered that a good friend who is also a dj – Huda G, told me it he thinks the oh death song must get a remix. 1st we used the original singing but it felt almost right. One day muzarco sent me a cover by a different singer , than I thought about calling Omri to sing over the track , why not make our own version??

If you had the chance to play this in any club, which would it be?

That’s a great question. Playing worldwide over the years has got me imagining dancefloors I have played at, while I am in the studio to produce a dance tune. Whenever I make something that has a deep sub bass and you know only an amazing sounding room, and that for me is the main floor at the Block ( Tel Aviv )
