NYE ‘14 Round Up

Berghain/Panormabar NYE

Reading as a who’s who of underground techno and house, Berghain/Panoramabar’s sprawling NYE event has almost every base covered. With parties at Berghain regularly going past the 24 hour mark, this particular soire will be a monstrous 2 day affair seeing a host of Berghain residents in the shape of Ben Klock, Norman Nodge and Marcel Dettmann taking care of the main room, while upstairs in Panaromabar regulars nd_baumecker, Steffi & Tama Sumo will be joining a massive lineup including Soundstream, Deetron & Efdemin to name but a few. This event is not for the faint hearted but certainly promises more than its fair share of highlights.

Nightvision Season 1 Finale

Having undertaken an unprecedented first season, Nightvision have brought some of the biggest names in electronic music to Scotland’s capital, consistently selling out with events with the likes of Joy Orbison, Boddika, Kink, Heidi, Skream and Annie Mac to name check just a few of the top jocks to have rocked the best clubs in Edinburgh this year. The culmination of these series of events is their NYE party with Subb-an, Waze and Oddysey, Craig Smith (6th Borough Project) and Theo Kottis (Moda Black), not to mention the plethora of local talent and residents. Trouw NYE

With the closure of Amstredam’s seminal club looming in the near distance, the last NYE party at Trouw was always going to make this round up. The fact that the programming is always on point and in doing so further cements this club in music history, a diverse lineup of John Talabot, Steve Rachmad, Jorn Liefdeshuis Motor City Drum Ensemble, Mr. Ties, Interstellar Funk & Robert Bergman plus a few surprise guest along the way make this one not to be missed, if you can get a ticket that is as these have been rarer than hens teeth.

Found NYE

Spread out over 6 rooms, Found NYE has drafted in a great selection of artists for the evening. The age old formula of coupling established international artists with the best in up and coming hot shot producers. This is more than evident in Mobilee boss Anja Schneider and label mate Sebo K and wAFF. Supporting them will be some of the countries hottest names in Cera Alba, Josh Butler, Bontan, Sam Supplier, Jasper James, Tough Love and The Menendez Brothers. Set in the Art-Deco surroundings of the Coronet Theatre, Found NYE is one of London’s stand out events this festive season.

As well as the endless supply of New years parties going on around the world, this can sometimes be somewhat of a headache and with the weather in the UK being less than forgiving it is often the case that a little jaunt to warmer climates is just what the doctor ordered. A trip to Barcelona is often a good bet and El Row is one of the rowdiest parties going. With El Row going above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to production they have enlisted some of dance music heavy hitters to make sure you start the year the way you mean to go on – Tale of Us, Jackmaster, Pan-Pot, Paco Osuna and Marc Maya will definitely make sure that’s the case.
